As Peggy Noonan pointed out in a recent WSJ column, before Gov. Walker allowed Wisconsin government employees to choose whether they wanted union dues taken from their paychecks, there were 62,218 dues-paying members of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). The number of AFSCME members after being allowed to choose: 28,785. That’s more than a 50% drop.
This proves one thing: the public employee unions are not the Borg™ and resistance is NOT futile.
