Most Christians, I don’t have a problem with.  The “God Hates Fags” Westboro Baptist Church pseudo-Christians, I have a BIG problem with.  Not only are their actions contrary to everything I understand about Christianity, but their interference with military funerals is unspeakable.

Now, the father of a slain Marine has been ordered to pay over $16,000 in appeals costs to the despicable Fred Phelps’s group.

(h/t Ace)

Here is a link where you can make online donations to help defray the legal cost’s for the father of this fallen warrior.  Please consider helping with whatever you can, and consider contacting your representatives to support legislation restricting this awful behavior.

NOTE: the Supreme Court has consistently upheld reasonable “time, place, and manner” restrictions on free speech, so such a law would be constitutional in my view, balancing the First Amendment rights of the “protesters” with the constitutionally protected privacy rights of the mourners at military funerals.

Well, I guess we’re finding out what’s in the bill, now that it’s passed:

Courtesy of NoisyRoom.net.

See the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act, page 1312:

SEC. 5210. ESTABLISHING A READY RESERVE CORPS.
Section 203 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 204) is amended to read as follows:
SEC. 203. COMMISSIONED CORPS AND READY RESERVE CORPS.
(a) ESTABLISHMENT–
(1) IN GENERAL.–here shall be in the Service a commissioned Regular Corps and a Ready Reserve Corps for service in time of national emergency.
(2) REQUIREMENT.–All commissioned officers shall be citizens of the United States and shall be appointed without regard to the civil-service laws and compensated without regard to the Classification Act 2 of 1923, as amended.
(3) APPOINTMENT.–Commissioned officers of the Ready Reserve Corps shall be appointed by the President and commissioned officers of the Regular Corps shall be appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Senate.
(4) ACTIVE DUTY.–Commissioned officers of the Ready Reserve Corps shall at all times be subject to call to active duty by the Surgeon General, including active duty for the purpose of training.
(5) WARRANT OFFICERS.–Warrant officers may be appointed to the Service for the purpose of providing support to the health and delivery systems maintained by the Service and any warrant officer appointed to the Service shall be considered for purposes of this Act and title 37, United States Code, to be a commissioned officer within the Commissioned Corps of the Service.
(b) ASSIMILATING RESERVE CORP OFFICERS INTO THE REGULAR CORPS.—Effective on the date of enactment of the Affordable Health Choices Act, all individuals classified as officers in the Reserve Corps under this section (as such section existed on the day before the date of enactment of such Act) and serving on active duty shall be deemed to be commissioned officers of the Regular Corps.

[Note here that those personally appointed by BO — without advice and consent of the Senate — automatically become a part of the Regular Corps. Ed.]

(c) PURPOSE AND USE OF READY RESERVE.–
(1) PURPOSE.–The purpose of the Ready Reserve Corps is to fulfill the need to have additional Commissioned Corps personnel available on short notice (similar to the uniformed service’s reserve program) to assist regular Commissioned Corps personnel to meet both routine public health and emergency response missions.
(2) USES.–The Ready Reserve Corps shall–
(A) participate in routine training to meet the general and specific needs of the Commissioned Corps;
(B) be available and ready for involuntary calls to active duty during national emergencies and public health crises, similar to the uniformed service reserve personnel;
(C) be available for backfilling critical positions left vacant during deployment of active duty Commissioned Corps members, as well as for deployment to respond to public health emergencies, both foreign and domestic; and
(D) be available for service assignment in isolated, hardship, and medically underserved communities (as defined in section 399SS) to improve access to health services.
(d) FUNDING.—For the purpose of carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the Commissioned Corps under this section, there are authorized to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary to the Office of the Surgeon General for each of fiscal years 2010 through 2014. Funds appropriated under this subsection shall be used for recruitment and training of Commissioned Corps Officers.

I don’t know about you, but I feel sick, no pun intended.  This goes so far beyond the pale that I just don’t have the words right now.  Son of a bitch!

We obviously need more ammo.

What Change Looks Like

Special thanks to LC Aggie Sith over at Hookers and Booze (who found it at Logics Monster) for the heads up on this truly glorious portrait of our Dear Leader.  As Aggie says, “Make it go viral. It’s a moral imperative.”

I love this beautiful work of art sooooo much, that I just have to share it here, courtesy of Stoaty Weasel:

The only thing that would be even more beautiful?  The photo taken right after that anvil lands.

This whole Toyota “unintended acceleration” thing reminds me of the Audi “unintended acceleration” hoax back in the 1980’s:  a complete sack of wet brownies.  Sub-intelligent knuckledraggers who don’t know how to drive a car are causing this “problem” as is clearly demonstrated in the video of this rigorously documented scientific experiment:  WARNING: highly unsafe for work, due to the multiplicity of  f-bombs.  In fact, this guy curses harsher than eddiebear writes.  Or possibly, maybe they’re the same guy… 😉

This is so good, this will be the Friday Funneh, Premature Edition.

From some link on the sidebar at Ace.  What, you think I do my own research for this blog?

I love music, but I despise talentless hacks who prostitute it in the service of hagiographic agitprop on behalf of Our Divine Leader.

Watch this, if you can.  I couldn’t make it to the end without gagging.

Triumph of the Will? Amateur hour compared to this.

about the religion of peace religion of hate and intolerance.

– Elphaba

I posted recently about Geert Wilders, the Dutch politician who sees Islam for what it really is (although, IMO, you have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to see through the liberal propaganda).  Mr. Wilders produced a short film called Fitna (you can watch it here), that puts no words in the mouth of Islam; rather, it puts forth words  exactly as they are written in the Koran, and the documented words and actions  of Imams and Muslims themselves.  If you haven’t seen it, you really should take the time to do so, and share it around. *Warning: the images shown are graphic and violent; hey are also very, very real.

Mr. Wilders is being prosecuted by his own government for “hate speech” against Islam.  This travesty of democracy and free speech can be followed at Geert Wilders’ website.  More importantly, you can contribute money to his defense.  We cannot afford to ignore his plight, because we are all vulnerable to this threat.

It’s a serious matter; even their pets are indoctrinated:

Okay, okay, so that last photo’s a joke, but trust me; this is no laughing matter.  The goal of Islam is world domination, and it is time to say no to political correctness and time to do everything that we can to preserve freedom.

Fuck political correctness.

I have no problem with most Christians, truly I don’t.  The true Christians I know are generally pleasant, non-confrontational people who may think I’m wrong in my spiritual beliefs, but who are not intolerant and don’t treat me like I’m a Satanic, axe-wielding nutjob.

These people, however, seem to have slipped off the edge of the map, and have veered into “Here Be Dragons” territory.  I only give the link so you can check this out for yourselves.

Repent Amarillo

The site has graphics that look remarkably like the U.S. Army’s ad campaign “An Army of One” except that it is “An Army of God.”  Interestingly, there is a star-shaped pendant shown hanging over the phrase;  it looks eerily like – a pentagram, the symbol of witchcraft and Wicca!  The motto of the group is “We are the Special Forces of spiritual warfare, we’re looking for a few good warriors.”  It is posted next to a picture that appears to be actual Special Forces wearing maroon berets, which would make them Airborne special forces.
