Your friendly neighborhood postmistress

Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds. – inscription on the James Farley post office in New York City

Unless it’s a beautiful sunny day and you’re a lazy, fat-ass U.S. postal worker:

Not exactly smart, that. Even if simply considering the likelihood of being caught sooner or later vs the benefits, which is just to save a few steps.

To be fair, I suppose there might be some bigger reason than just laziness. Like ruined knees or some other health problems. They seem to be common for people who have been doing that type of work for long, so if she started young and first walked her routes for years she could be somebody who now has some problems walking.

But that would still be just plain stupid.

Interesting. I have your blog on the bookmarks, and when I just clicked on it I ended up somewhere completely else. Chinese, Japanese or maybe Korean writing – I can’t tell those apart.

Your computer, mine or something between them? I don’t know much about how viruses or whatever work.

Well, I need to take this for a check up anyway, but maybe you should check yours too.

And, of course, the fat bashing… So much fun being this era’s niggers.

Would it have been better if I’d used the “F-word”, Kell?

I would have called her a lazy, fat-ass U.S. postal worker even if she was as thin as Kate Moss, because she IS a lazy, fat-ass U.S. postal worker. My epithet has nothing to do with the size of her ample bottom. It refers to her attitude.

Of course, you don’t appear to get “sarcasm.”

  4. I once recieved one of those cards in the mailbox they give when you are not home and signature required…only I was home, cars were in the driveway, garage doors were open. I watched the carrier put it in the mailbox from inside the house. It was surreal. Laziness-pure laziness.

I get sarcasm. And I get descriptive, accurate writing. And “lazy, fat-ass U.S. postal worker” is a heaping helping of both. LOVE IT!

Brilliant video. Positively delicious. The only thing that would have made it perfect is if she had a long Inspector Gadget extendo-arm and just reached out with it and dropped the mail on the porch, never having to even heave herself off the seat. Ahhh…the benefits of technology.
