Zimmerman verdict: Not Guilty.

Thank whatever gods you pray to that the jury did their duty and didn’t cave in to the pressure to “do the right thing” as defined by the race-baiters.  This case was never about race.  It was made into a racial conflict by those who profit from such conflict.

I have always been appalled at the “our side has to win for justice to be done” undercurrent in this case.   This wasn’t a sporting event; a man’s life was at stake.  As the evidence unfolded in real time for all to see, it became clear what many have suspected all along: that this was a political show trial.  An Obama-voting, half-Hispanic man was painted as a white, GOP racist who “assassinated” Trayvon Martin.  If George Zimmerman had gone by the name Jorge Zimmerman, nobody outside of his suburban community and the Seminole County police would even know who he was.  (Just as if O.J. Simpson had not been a sports star and celebrity, nobody would know or care about Orenthal the bus-driving murderer.)

We indeed have a justice system, not just a legal system.

For now.

If he’d sprung from my loins, he’d look like this.

Just a question: since Obama is half white, if he had a son, isn’t it just as likely that he’d look like George Zimmerman, who’s half white as well?  And on that note, which half of George Zimmerman is the racist half?  The white half or the Hispanic half?

Death penalty opponents, answer this: what’s different about these two cases?

Thursday, September 22nd, 2011

– Wiccapundit

Death penalty opponents among the screeching liberal hive-mind were apoplectic over yesterday’s execution in Georgia of convicted cop-killer Troy Davis.  To read a rebuttal to the shallow, superficial, self-serving and blatantly incorrect analysis of the case from the Lefty media, read Ann Coulter’s latest column.   What is amazing is how many people feel compelled to issue their opinion on the case and its outcome, having read NONE of the tens of thousands of pages of trial and hearing transcripts, having heard NONE of the actual testimony from the 34 prosecution witnesses, and having read NONE of the judicial opinions of judges who have presided over the trials, hearings,  or appeals during the past 22 fucking years.  Justice delayed is justice denied, so it is said.

Lost in the shuffle was another execution that took place on the same day, in another Southern state.   On September 22, 2011, the State of Texas executed Lawrence Russell Brewer, who was convicted just 14 years ago as one of three men involved in the infamous dragging death of James Byrd.

I’ll answer the question posed above, because the Lefty moonbats can’t or won’t.  Troy Davis was black, and his victim was a white police officer, so there is total outrage over Davis’s execution.  Brewer was a white supremacist, and his victim was a black man, so nobody on the Left is outraged in the least over his execution.

Jimmy Carter, Al Sharpton, Hollywood celebs without number; all opponents of capital punishment.  Ooops.  I meant, opponents of SOME capital punishment.   No candlelight vigils for Lawrence Russell Brewer.  No Hollywood pontification about Lawrence Russell Brewer’s fate.  No Bob Dylan songs memorializing Lawrence Russell Brewer’s life in song.  No, he is an embarassment, and an object of loathing, so no liberal really cares that he got the death penalty.  No, he deserved it, at least in their minds.  For another thoughtful  exploration of this issue, see Jonah Goldberg’s column Why Death-Penalty Opponents Can’t Win.

I might respect a principled opponent of the death penalty who objected to ALL exeuctions.  Most of those objecting to Troy Davis’s execution, I respect not at all.

Both men died by lethal injection, slipping softly into the long, dark night that awaits them.  Perhaps both of them might have been deterred had capital punishment been as swift as it was in 1901, when Leon Czolgosz assassinated President William McKinley.  Czolgosz went on trial only nine days after McKinley’s death.  Three days later, a jury took just one-half hour to convict Czolgosz and sentence hime to death.  The killer was electrocuted a little over a month after the verdict.  Justice, swift and sure.  Troy Davis stayed the executioner’s hand for more than two decades.

Whaddaya know? A scholarship for white males.

Sunday, July 3rd, 2011

– Elphaba

I stumbled across this article, and was intrigued:

“We’re not racists. We have no agenda for bigotry,” said Bohannon. “We’re not trying to take away anything from any other group. We’re just trying to help poor, Caucasian males afford college.”

Right on.  What’s cool is that the organization’s Vice President, Marcus Carter, is black:

“Right now everybody else has their own specific scholarship: Minorities, left-handed people, people who like the color green,” said Carter. “I don’t feel the animosity of helping this group.”

Interesting how this is perceived as racist, when scholarships that exclude white men (and women) are not.  Anyway, this does make me smile.

I’m not a racist …

– Wiccapundit

… ’cause I know someone who lives down the street from someone who works with someone who voted for Obama.

Apparently, that’s sort of the argument being made by wealthy white liberal residents of Park Slope, an upscale enclave of Brooklyn.  You know the type: bankers, lawyers, etc.  A plan was introduced to put a magnet school in the area that would bring in approximately six hundred mostly black and Latino students.  One resident was not happy:

The woman insisted that she was concerned only about the menacing behavior of the students, not their race, and to prove it, she played the Obama Vote Card:

“By the way, I am an Obama Democrat. I love Obama. I would want anyone in his family living next door to me. I work mostly with people of color every day…”

I suspect those “people of color” she claims to work with tell their friends that they work with a “person of stupid.”

In the immortal words of Navin R. Johnson: “Sir, you are talking to a nigger!”  (The Jerk, 1979).

Nigger Jim and Injun Joe get the boot.

Tuesday, January 4th, 2011

– Wiccapundit

Proving that no American institution is safe from the grubby paws of the politically correct Bowdlerization crowd, a new edition of Twain’s classic novel Huckleberry Finn will be published with all references to “Nigger” Jim replaced with the word “slave.”

It doesn’t stop there.

The new book will also remove usage of the word Injun. The effort is spearheaded by Twain expert Alan Gribben, who says his PC-ified version is not an attempt to neuter the classic but rather to update it.

“Race matters in these books,” Gribben told PW. “It’s a matter of how you express that in the 21st century.”

The enormity of this stupidity is beyond my capacity to absorb.  Did this so-called expert pass Freshman English in college?  If so, how did he do it without reaching an understanding of the concept of irony?   As Pulitzer-prize-winning writer and commentator Russell Wayne Baker has noted:

The people whom Huck and Jim encounter on the Mississippi are drunkards, murderers, bullies, swindlers, lynchers, thieves, liars, mows, frauds, child abusers, numbskulls, hypocrites, windbags and traders in human flesh. All are white. The one man of honor in this phantasmagoria is ‘Nigger Jim,’ as Twain called him to emphasize the irony of a society in which the only true gentleman was held beneath contempt. (emphasis added)

That’s right, Mr. Gribben, irony.  As Steve Martin so marvelously stated in the film “Roxanne”: “Oh, ho, ho, irony! Oh, no, no, we don’t get that here. See, uh, people ski topless here while smoking dope, so irony’s not really a, a high priority. We haven’t had any irony here since about, uh, ’83, when I was the only practitioner of it. And I stopped because I was tired of being stared at.”

In related news, other classics are set to be updated by NewSouth Books:

In “Moby Dick,” Captain Ahab is set to chase the pigmentally-challenged cetacean, and in a new edition of Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice,” Shylock the Jewish moneylender will be recast as Bob the Semitic-Appearing Investment Banker.

When Mr. Gribben was asked whether he would be reworking the lyrics to rapper Method Man’s “Motherfuckin’ Nigger,”  he replied: “Fuck no, dat shit is dope.”

Racist racists and their racism.

Friday, November 5th, 2010

– Wiccapundit

When you were a kid, did you ever trying saying a word over and over until it lost all its meaning and didn’t even sound like a real word anymore?  It seems that the race pimps have managed to do that with the word “racist.”

Webster’s definition of “racism”:

a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.

Does that sound at all like the way the word is commonly used today?

Here’s my take on the subject:

Whenever someone uses the word “racist,” this is what I hear:

“Beat Whitey Night???!!??” WTF?

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

– Wiccapundit

From the Des Moines Register, KSDK NewsChannel 5:

Des Moines police are trying to determine what led to a series of attacks outside the Iowa State Fairgrounds over the weekend that included the assault of two police officers.

Sgt. David Murillo stated in a report on Friday night: On-duty officers at the fairgrounds advise there was a group of 30 to 40 individuals roaming the fairgrounds openly calling it ‘beat whitey night.’

And State Rep. Ako Abdul-Samad, D-Des Moines said he doesn’t have enough information to decide if the fights were racially motivated.

Not enough information?  Excuse me?

As always, Drinking With Bob puts things in perspective:
