Pentagon: Iran fired on U.S. drone in Persian Gulf — seven days ago

Gee, do you think it might have been useful for the American electorate to know this, oh, say, a couple of days before the election?  Nah, that’s just crazy talk.

What’s one more shot in a war that’s been going on since November 4, 1979 between the United States and Iran?  War, you say?  Umm, yeah, that’s what you call it when agents of another nation invade your sovereign territory and take it over.    It a more civilized and less prissy era (like just a few decades ago), the takeover of the American embassy in Teheran would have constituted a casus belli, justifying armed response by the United States.  The feckless Jimmy Carter did nothing, and that clear breach of international law has remained unaddressed since that time.

How does it feel to have been at war for thirty-three years and not even realize it?

A journalist sees the light and has the courage to speak the truth

CBS correspondent Lara Logan recently spoke at the Better Government Association luncheon.

Money quote #1 comes at 12:39:

Our way of life is under attack, and if you think that’s government propaganda, if you think that’s nonsense, if you think that’s warmongering; you’re not listening to what the people who are fighting you say about this fight. In your arrogance, you think that you write the script, but you don’t.

Money quote #2 comes at 17:52:

If you fail to identify the the ideological component to this fight; if you fail to identify what your enemy is really fighting for; if you lie about who they really are; I don’t see how you can possibly have the right strategy.

It’s twenty minutes, and worth every bit of your time to watch it.  Make sure that this is seen by everyone you know.  It’s that important.

“What did the President know and when did he know it?”

That line from the Watergate investigation is one of the most well-remembered.   What people often forget is that Hillary Clinton, as a young lawyer, served on the committee investigating the possibility of Nixon’s impeachment.

What a small fucking world it is.

Now, the current Prez and his Secretary of State are involved in a scandal which, unlike Watergate, actually caused people to get killed.

The following video should be made to go viral.  It summarizes the outright lies and obfuscation of the President, Secretary Clinton, and a host of administration talking heads with regard to the TERRORIST ATTACK on our consulate in Benghazi, an attack the administration KNEW within 24 hours was not in response to some stupid video.

Joke: How do you know that President Obama is lying?

Answer: He exists.

Watch it, and weep for our Nation and its sovereignty.

Obama Has American Citizen Arrested For Exercising His First Amendment Rights

Yes, making a film that makes the Administration uncomfortable now gets actual brownshirts sent to your door in the night.  Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore claims that the “interview” was “voluntary” and that Nakoula Bassely Nakoula was not under arrest.

Yeah, sure.

Hey Barack (Barry) Hussein (Soetoro) Obama:  Fuck you and the camel you rode into town on.  That’s right, I am exercising my First Amendment rights to call you a cocknugget douchetool.   Are you going to track me down and have me taken in for a “voluntary interview” with The Man?

Ann Barnhardt demands to be immediately arrested for blasphemy, because apparently that is now the law in this country, even though nobody seems to know when or by whom that law was passed.  In accordance with Ann’s wishes, this blog is reposting the YouTube video of Ann burning the pages of a Koran that has been bookmarked with strips of bacon.  Ann has called out the thuggish Obama regime on this.  Will they respond?

Here’s the video.  See that it gets distribution far and wide.

Here is the same video subtitled in Arabic. I hope it gets sent far and wide in the insane muslim world.

Gee, it’s like 1979 all over again

Let’s see:

Soaring gas prices?  Check.

Flaccid economy?  Check.

Government spending out of control?  Check.

Middle East tensions with assaults on our embassies and murder of ambassadors?  Check.

Impotent foreign policy strategy?  Check.

Fears of nuclear showdown?  Check.

Russian hegemony causing us grief?  Check.

Total loser ensconced in the White House?  Checkcheckcheckcheck.

Maybe I should get my plaid bell-bottoms out of storage and relive the glory days of old.  At least the music was better back then (disco notwithstanding).

Sadly, there is no Ronald Reagan waiting in the wings to put things right.

Obama. More like John Kennedy than he’d like to admit.

While reading Mark Moyar’s excellent “Triumph Forsaken: The Vietnam War, 1954-1965,” I came across a very telling passage:

On June 3 [1961], President Kennedy headed to Vienna for a two-day summit with Khrushchev.  …  With his strength of personality and his conversational skills, Kennedy intended to sway Khrushchev in the same way he had swayed so many American politicians and campaign contributors, while showing Khrushchev that he could not be pushed around.  His [Kennedy’s] refusal to send American forces in to Laos and Cuba, he knew, had given Khrushchev reason to believe that the new American President had the toughness of a whispering lilac.

Khrushchev manhandled Kennedy from start to finish, manipulating his adversary and the terms of the conference totally to his advantage.  Kennedy later admitted that “He treated me like a little boy.  Like a little boy.”  Britain’s Harold MacMillan stated that “The President was completely overwhelmed by the ruthlessness and barbarity of the Russian premier.”  MacMillan believed it was the first time Kennedy had “met a man who was completely impervious to his charm.”

Gee, who does that sound like?  At least Kennedy had the grace to admit he’d been outclassed.

Hey lefties, you got some ‘splainin’ to do on Osama

The raghead is dead.  Good news.  Here’s my take on it.  Obama will try to use this to burnish his “toughness” credentials.  I don’t care.  The Islamic slug is gone; good riddance.

But I’m not letting the liberal screechers off the hook.  How does it feel to know that your boy, Teh One, just fulfilled George W. Bush’s longstanding promise to get Bin Laden “dead or alive.”  Didn’t Barry just act as W’s stand-in?  Oh, and wasn’t this a targeted “assassination” in violation of long-standing U.S. policy, as embodied in Presidential Executive Order 11905 signed by Gerald Ford, as strengthened by Executive Order 12036 signed by Jimmah Carter?  That original order states:  “No employee of the United States Government shall engage in, or conspire to engage in, political assassination.”  How do you lefties square Obama’s actions with the law?  Did Obama violate U.S. law?

Personally, I don’t believe he did, because targeting an enemy in wartime is appropriate under customary international law.  I have never understood the squeamishness that holds that it is improper to send in a sniper to kill a lowlife like bin Laden, but it is acceptable to send in a Hellfire missile from a UAV to do the same job.  It’s hard to believe, but I applaud Obama’s actions in this regard.  I just want to hear the liberals’ explanation for why they are strikingly silent on Obama’s continued use of Predator drone strikes, renditions, military tribunals, and keeping Gitmo open.  Weren’t these things evidence that George W. Bush was guilty of war crimes?

Anyone who is critical of these things at all times at least is being consistent, and I can respect that position even though I disagree with it.  But the total absence of Code Pink since Obama’s inauguration merely shows what most conservatives already knew: opposition to the war in Irag and Afghanistan by most of the left was not a principled position against war or foreign interventionism.  It was simply opposition to George W. Bush.

The hypocrisy of the left is appalling, but completely predictable.
