“What did the President know and when did he know it?”

That line from the Watergate investigation is one of the most well-remembered.   What people often forget is that Hillary Clinton, as a young lawyer, served on the committee investigating the possibility of Nixon’s impeachment.

What a small fucking world it is.

Now, the current Prez and his Secretary of State are involved in a scandal which, unlike Watergate, actually caused people to get killed.

The following video should be made to go viral.  It summarizes the outright lies and obfuscation of the President, Secretary Clinton, and a host of administration talking heads with regard to the TERRORIST ATTACK on our consulate in Benghazi, an attack the administration KNEW within 24 hours was not in response to some stupid video.

Joke: How do you know that President Obama is lying?

Answer: He exists.

Watch it, and weep for our Nation and its sovereignty.

Obama Has American Citizen Arrested For Exercising His First Amendment Rights

Yes, making a film that makes the Administration uncomfortable now gets actual brownshirts sent to your door in the night.  Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore claims that the “interview” was “voluntary” and that Nakoula Bassely Nakoula was not under arrest.

Yeah, sure.

Hey Barack (Barry) Hussein (Soetoro) Obama:  Fuck you and the camel you rode into town on.  That’s right, I am exercising my First Amendment rights to call you a cocknugget douchetool.   Are you going to track me down and have me taken in for a “voluntary interview” with The Man?

Ann Barnhardt demands to be immediately arrested for blasphemy, because apparently that is now the law in this country, even though nobody seems to know when or by whom that law was passed.  In accordance with Ann’s wishes, this blog is reposting the YouTube video of Ann burning the pages of a Koran that has been bookmarked with strips of bacon.  Ann has called out the thuggish Obama regime on this.  Will they respond?

Here’s the video.  See that it gets distribution far and wide.

Here is the same video subtitled in Arabic. I hope it gets sent far and wide in the insane muslim world.

Your Wiccapundit loves him some show tunes.  South Pacific, My Fair Lady, Guys and Dolls, and of more recent vintage The Will Rogers Follies (with lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, who wrote the lyrics to Guys and Dolls).  But I hates me some truly amateurish community college theater major-bush league-municipal theater company attempt at being both politically relevant and off-off-off Broadway at the same time.   That, of course, would be One Term More, a website devoted to getting Obama the second term he so richly deserves, and the “musical” production found at the site.

This has to be the most wretched example of Lefty propaganda ever to see the light of day.  (click on the link, as the video can’t be embedded).  Watch it, if you can.  Watch it, if you dare.  If you can make it through the entire 6:12, you are capable of withstanding a waterboarding personally administered by Dick Cheney.

One Term More

Seriously, we are into territory that makes Plan Nine From Outer Space look like Oscar-worthy material.  I note that the title is One Term More, rather than One More Term.  I suppose that this was deliberate in order to provide more rhyming opportunities for the Thesaurusly-challenged librettist responsible for gems like this:

This man who would unseat Barack’s
A bleak choice at the ballot box.

Really?  You rhymed “Barack’s” with “box?”  I never would have seen that.  I guess that’s why you make your living at this kind of work.

Filibusters. Budget scrums.
Ultrasounds & speculums.
To the Dark Side they’ve succumbed.

Hmmm, let’s see: “scrums,” “speculums,” and “succumbed.”  Milton?  A piker.  Byron?  A hack.  This guy knows how to write poetry.  I bet those dead English guys could never have come up with a stinging retort like calling Republicans “fetid nuts.”

I guess they didn’t call the show One More Term because the only words that rhyme with “term” are “germ,” “sperm,” and “squirm.”  Which, if you  think about it, could all be used in one sentence and still accurately reflect the current administration.

Honestly, I think Spanky, Darla, and Alfalfa did a better job when one of the Little Rascals said “Hey! Let’s put on a show!”

I cannot give this performance the review it deserves.  I leave that to Cousin Vinny:

Honestly, we are so hosed.  The Federal government does what it wants, when it wants, and screw you if you object.

The phone rang before sunrise. It woke Craig Patty, owner of a tiny North Texas trucking company, to vexing news about Truck 793 – a big red semi supposedly getting repairs in Houston.

“Your driver was shot in your truck,” said the caller, a business colleague. “Your truck was loaded with marijuana. He was shot eight times while sitting in the cab. Do you know anything about your driver hauling marijuana?”

“What did you say?” Patty recalled asking. “Could you please repeat that?”

The truck, it turned out, had been everywhere but in the repair shop.

Commandeered by one of his drivers, who was secretly working with federal agents, the truck had been hauling marijuana from the border as part of an undercover operation. And without Patty’s knowledge, the Drug Enforcement Administration was paying his driver, Lawrence Chapa, to use the truck to bust traffickers.

This article in the Houston chronicle gives the whole sordid story.

Damn.  Just, damn.

The first words that must be said are these: pray for the families.  Pray if you are Christian or if you are pagan.  Pray if you are an atheist.  Just pray.

Second point.  I will not mention the name of the shooter.  Ever.  His identity should be stricken from the roll of the names of human beings, and he should profit not from his deed in any way, least of all by gaining notoriety.

Third, I would hope that this evil, savage act of violence not be politicized, but the Left is already way ahead of the curve on that.  Note that I did not refer to this as a “tragedy.”  Tragedies are tornadoes, hurricanes, and earthquakes, or being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  No, this was an evil act; a willed act by an individual aware of exactly what he was doing.

So, since the Left is already sharpening their knives on the gun issue, let’s address it.

What appears clear, at least from reports already available, is that no one in the theater was carrying a concealed weapon.  At least, no one is reported as having used one.  It is not clear whether one person having a weapon and being willing to employ it would have made a difference, as the shooter was heavily covered in body armor.  Nonetheless, it is certain that no one tried, and therefore, we will never know if it could have made a difference.  The people killed and wounded were defenseless.  The police could not protect them.  The government could not protect them.

The Left is already crying out that more gun control is the solution.  Here is my answer to them: 1) Chicago – murder capital of the U.S. – has registered 200 homicides so far this year, up 49.5% over 2011;  851 shootings in 2012 vs. 747 by this time in 2011.   In 2010, it became legal for Chicago residents to OWN a firearm, but only in your home.  You can’t even possess it on your porch or in your car.   Oh, and gun shops are banned from operating in Chicago.  Do the math.

The person who shot 71 innocent people in Aurora committed at least 6 crimes I can think of off the top of my head: 1) murder; 2) attempted murder; 3) assault with a deadly weapon; 4) possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony; 5) use of an incendiary device in a public place; 6) possession of explosive devices with intent to cause bodily harm (the booby traps at his apartment).  I’m sure he will be charged with more.  So, gee, he was probably going to be deterred by a law prohibiting him from having a gun in the first place.  If he was planning on committing multiple murders, the gravest crime he could possibly commit, what does the Left think?  That violating a puny gun ordinance was going to give him pause, to cause him to rethink his plans?

UPDATE: Nice classical reference on this point from Charles C.W. Cooke at NRO:

As Cesare Beccaria wrote in 1764 in Crimes and Punishments:

The laws of this nature are those which forbid to wear arms, disarming those only who are not disposed to commit the crime which the laws mean to prevent. Can it be supposed, that those who have the courage to violate the most sacred laws of humanity, and the most important of the code, will respect the less considerable and arbitrary injunctions, the violation of which is so easy, and of so little comparative importance? Does not the execution of this law deprive the subject of that personal liberty, so dear to mankind and to the wise legislator? And does it not subject the innocent to all the disagreeable circumstances that should only fall on the guilty? It certainly makes the situation of the assaulted worse and of the assailants better, and rather encourages than prevents murder, as it requires less courage to attack unarmed than armed persons.

People seem to reach out and struggle at a time like this, to search for some kind of meaning or motivation on behalf of the shooter.  It’s like the perennial search for conspiracy theories with the Kennedy assassination.  It must have been the Cubans, or the CIA, or the Mob, or anything other than some lone wackjob.  Perhaps we’ll learn the Aurora’s shooter’s reason for his evil acts.  Perhaps we won’t.

Maybe he’s just evil.

Iowahawk provides the final word on John Roberts’ sophistry

SCOTUS Update: John Roberts – Caterpillar Wasp?

Thursday, June 28th, 2012

– Wiccapundit

By now I have read most of the commentary from the Right regarding Justice Roberts’s ObamaCare opinion – ranging from “he’s a traitor” to “crazy like a fox” or something like that.  I am tending toward the latter view.

Here’s what is clear from the decision:

ObamaCare is constitutional.

The “mandate” is not a mandate – it’s a tax.

Congress does not have the power to compel U.S. citizens to buy products or services, unless it is enforced through a tax rather than a penalty.

The Commerce Clause can not be used to force a citizen to engage in commerce.

ObamaCare is constitutional because it is based on a tax, not a penalty.

I am beginning to wonder whether Justice Roberts is playing the “long game.”  Has he read his Sun Tzu?

Be extremely subtle, even to the point of formlessness. Be extremely mysterious, even to the point of soundlessness. Thereby you can be the director of the opponent’s fate.

By basing  the constitutionality of ObamaCare on the taxing power of Congress under the Constitution, he has done several things:

 –  By upholding the statute on a 5-4 non-partisan basis, he has emasculated any argument from the Left that 5-4 decisions of the Supreme Court are inherently “political” and improper.  Whenever the Left raises Bush v. Gore, conservatives can respond with National Federation of Independent Business v. Sebelius.

–  The Court has established that Congress CANNOT use the Commerce Clause to exercise unlimited power – this is now the law of the land.

–  ObamaCare will now be a centerpiece issue in the 2012 Presidential campaign, something that Obama would dearly love not to be the case.

– Any future gross exercise of power by Congress will have to be framed as a tax to survive constitutional scrutiny.  Voters are not terribly inclined toward extensive tax increases.

–  The Court’s opinion has given the Republicans a perfect campaign ad: Obama in 2009 insisted that the mandate was not a tax.  Now that the Court has ruled that the only way ObamaCare is constitutional is if the mandate is a tax, Obama is shown to be a craven liar.

The tiny caterpillar wasp lays its eggs inside a caterpillar.  The larvae then eat their way out, consuming the caterpillar from the inside out.  Does the ObamaCare decision do the same to the Left’s plans to remake America through the power of unlimited Commerce Clause-based legislation?  They “won,” but did they really?

Celebrate the ORIGINAL Velvet Revolution, not Brett Kimberlin’s rip-off version

Monday, June 18th, 2012

Go to this site, and repost and Tweet the link as well:  Velvet Revolution.  It is a site dedicated to reclaiming the term “Velvet Revolution” from Brett Kimberlin, who uses it as a catch-all for his nefarious doings.  The term originally (and properly) referred to the non-violent Czech uprising against Communist rule in 1989.  The site’s goal is to push Brett Kimberlin’s version so far down in the Google rankings that it effectively disappears.  Help them out.
