“PSY” is Korean for “jackass”

Sunday, December 9th, 2012

– Wiccapundit

The seemingly soft and unthreatening Korean K-pop rapper PSY, who has gotten millions of people to dance in a stupid fashion to his catchy “song” Gangnam Style, is actually virulently anti-American, as evidenced by the lyrics to a song by South Korean rock band N.E.X.T. that he sang in a 2004 concert:

Kill those fucking Yankees who have been torturing Iraqi captives

Kill those fucking Yankees who ordered them to torture

Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law and fathers

Kill them all slowly and painfully

He is, of course, trying to sanitize his past history in order to enjoy the fruits of his current world adulation.  One sign of the impending Apocalypse?  That over 900,000,000 million views of his video have been recorded on YouTube.  Compare: the 1958 performance of Beethoven’s masterful Ninth Symphony, performed by the Berlin Philharmonic under the direction of Herbert von Karajan (the gold standard for this piece) and including an in-her-prime Leontyne Price singing soprano: 59,000 views.  Seriously? WTF?

Hey PSY, here’s a little statistic for you: over 33,000 “fucking Yankee” soldiers died to prevent the country you were born in from becoming the same Marxist “People’s” shithole that North Korea has become.  This happened before you were even a randy gleam in your daddy’s eye, which you seem not to know as apparently you have never studied Korean history.  Had Americans not died to protect the sovereignty of South Korea, you would have grown up in a regime that has created such widespread starvation among its people that malnutrition has caused the average North Korean to be between 1 and 3 inches shorter than the average South Korean.  In the late 1990’s, North Korea experienced a famine that caused upwards of 3,500,000 people to die of starvation, out of a population of about 22 million.  When 15% of your population dies from state-induced lack of food, what do you do?  Why, you give it a pithy name: “the Arduous March.”  Man, those Commies have a catchy phrase for everything.

If you had grown up under conditions like those that exist today in North Korea, you would not be “rapping” for a high-bling living, you would be laboring in a prison camp and eating your stolen pork raw so the guards wouldn’t catch you cooking it and beat the crap out of you.  Your fame consists entirely of creating a catchy song paired with a silly dance, which makes you something of a one-hit wonder.   Even the Hokey Pokey (which by the way was written in 1857) is a catchy song with a silly dance.  People are still singing and performing that song and dance today.  Do you think anyone will be doing the Gangnam Style dance in six months?  Can you say “Hey, Macarena?”

Bonus add-on:  President Obama and Michelle, despite the controversy over PSY’s ugly past, will nonetheless still attend his Christmas performance.  The President had a great opportunity to engage in a Clintonesque “Sister Souljah” moment, demonstrating his leadership qualities and racking up some props even from conservative commentators, who would have undoubtedly (if grudgingly) given him a thumbs-up for doing the right thing and distancing himself from anti-American sentiment.  That was a high-hanging PR curveball and the President completely whiffed it.  But he is, after all, The Smartest President EVAH.™

Obama: 2016 – A Must See

Sunday, August 26th, 2012

– Wiccapundit

Elphaba and I went to see the Dinesh D’Souza movie Obama: 2016 last night.  If you haven’t seen this, you should do so.  Even if you are deeply engaged politically and you think you know a lot about Obama, this movie will still provide some enlightening moments.

What we found interesting was that the theater was nearly full, at a multiplex where we have seen first-run thrillers recently (Spider-Man and The Bourne Legacy) playing to almost-empty theaters.  The audience was diverse in age and ethnicity, although there were few young people (meaning in their ‘teens and early twenties).  I overheard one man saying “I never knew that about Obama.”  This seemed to me to be a person who was not a “true-believer” conservative, but a person who merely came to the movie wanting to know more, and boy did he get it.

Recommend that all your friends see this.  If you have friends who voted for Obama in 2008, especially try to get them to see it.  The movie is not a “bomb-throwing,” “foam-at-the-mouth” diatribe, but rather a sober, calm, clear look at what Obama’s background and influences were.  No tin-foil-hat stuff here, just interviews with highly respectable people like Shelby Steele, and even one with Obama’s half-brother in Kenya.  He was very articulate, and calmly recited his perception of Obama.  Very powerful stuff.  The movie was produced by the Oscar-winning producer of Schindler’s List, so the production quality is first-rate.

Five stars.

SCOTUS Update: John Roberts – Caterpillar Wasp?

Thursday, June 28th, 2012

– Wiccapundit

By now I have read most of the commentary from the Right regarding Justice Roberts’s ObamaCare opinion – ranging from “he’s a traitor” to “crazy like a fox” or something like that.  I am tending toward the latter view.

Here’s what is clear from the decision:

ObamaCare is constitutional.

The “mandate” is not a mandate – it’s a tax.

Congress does not have the power to compel U.S. citizens to buy products or services, unless it is enforced through a tax rather than a penalty.

The Commerce Clause can not be used to force a citizen to engage in commerce.

ObamaCare is constitutional because it is based on a tax, not a penalty.

I am beginning to wonder whether Justice Roberts is playing the “long game.”  Has he read his Sun Tzu?

Be extremely subtle, even to the point of formlessness. Be extremely mysterious, even to the point of soundlessness. Thereby you can be the director of the opponent’s fate.

By basing  the constitutionality of ObamaCare on the taxing power of Congress under the Constitution, he has done several things:

 –  By upholding the statute on a 5-4 non-partisan basis, he has emasculated any argument from the Left that 5-4 decisions of the Supreme Court are inherently “political” and improper.  Whenever the Left raises Bush v. Gore, conservatives can respond with National Federation of Independent Business v. Sebelius.

–  The Court has established that Congress CANNOT use the Commerce Clause to exercise unlimited power – this is now the law of the land.

–  ObamaCare will now be a centerpiece issue in the 2012 Presidential campaign, something that Obama would dearly love not to be the case.

– Any future gross exercise of power by Congress will have to be framed as a tax to survive constitutional scrutiny.  Voters are not terribly inclined toward extensive tax increases.

–  The Court’s opinion has given the Republicans a perfect campaign ad: Obama in 2009 insisted that the mandate was not a tax.  Now that the Court has ruled that the only way ObamaCare is constitutional is if the mandate is a tax, Obama is shown to be a craven liar.

The tiny caterpillar wasp lays its eggs inside a caterpillar.  The larvae then eat their way out, consuming the caterpillar from the inside out.  Does the ObamaCare decision do the same to the Left’s plans to remake America through the power of unlimited Commerce Clause-based legislation?  They “won,” but did they really?

Be careful what you ask for, Lefties

Thursday, June 28th, 2012

– Wiccapundit

Not much to say about the ObamaCare decision.   It is what it is.

Here’s what I think.  Leftists will come to regret this decision, when the inevitable Republican administration with a Republican Congress decides to gore one of Liberalism’s oxes.  Say, abortion or gun control.

1. Congress passes a law requiring that before obtaining an abortion, you MUST get counseling on alternative options and sit through lengthy video presentations of what happens during an abortion.   Don’t want to do it?  OK, just pay the substantial tax Congress imposed, like the ObamaCare decision says Congress can require you to do.

2. Congress passes a law (like the one in Kennesaw, Georgia from 1982) requiring all citizens to purchase a firearm and ammunition, in order to increase public security and reduce crime.  Don’t want to do it?  OK, just pay the substantial penalty – er, tax – which Congress thoughtfully set at $10,000.

I think Barack Obama will come to regret this decision as a Pyrrhic victory.  In the end, he will be voted out of office, ObamaCare will be repealed, and the Supreme Court decision upholding it will be relegated to a dusty footnote of interest only to law students suffering through Constitutional Law class.

Careful what you wish, you may regret it

Careful what you wish, you just might get it

Meet the leeches

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011

– Wiccapundit

When you argue with liberals about people mooching off the system and draining the productive wealth of this country, you usually get a response like: “well, that’s just an apocryphal story”, or  “you can’t rely on unsourced anecdotes to prove your point.”

Really?  Here’s two rock-solid, sourced examples:

The first is a copy of a receipt from a grocery store for five 24-packs of Mountain Dew, a half-dozen cold-water lobsters, and two Porterhouse steaks.  Total: $141.78, paid for with FOOD STAMPS.

I mean, seriously?  Who drinks Mountain Dew with steak and lobster?

Snopes verified it, and yes, it’s true, because the guy who bought the stuff has been arraigned in criminal court in Menominee, Michigan for trying to sell it.  Yes, it’s apparently legal to buy these kinds of comestibles with money obtained from the public tit; you just can’t turn around and sell them.  Jeez, heartless conservatives trying to keep a man down for doin’ a little arbitrage action?

But as the Democrats whine, “we can’t allow draconian Republican cuts of even a penny from these absolutely necessary social safety-net programs.”

The second takes a few minutes to watch.  Watch it.  This is the face of the blood-sucking parasite attached to your ass, exsanguinating you as you slave away at an actual … what do they call it?  Oh yeah, a job.

This guy should be taken out into the street and beaten senseless with whatever musical instrument he supposedly plays.  As Judge Judy says: “seventy thousand dollars down the sewer.”

Paging John Galt; Mr. Galt, you have a call.
